In Caloocan City, Philippines, Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF), an animal rescue organization, recently carried out a heartwarming act of compassion. They came across a faithful dog that had been patiently waiting outside a local hospital for over a year, unaware that his beloved owner had sadly passed away. Moved by this poignant sight, AKF stepped in to provide the canine with the care and attention he deserved.
The AKF recently provided some exciting news about the adorable canine on their official Facebook page. This furry friend, who consistently lingered outside the morgue of Caloocan City’s Manila Central University – Filemon D. Tanchoco Medical Foundation, has been affectionately named Morgan.
In the middle of 2022, Morgan’s owner unfortunately contracted COVID-19 and was admitted to the Caloocan hospital. Meanwhile, Morgan continued to faithfully wait outside, completely unaware of the heartbreaking news that his owner had passed away during this prolonged period of waiting.
Fortunately, the hospital staff, including the doctors, students, medical representatives, guards, and other personnel, kindly took care of Morgan’s feeding needs every day. They chose not to inform the animal pound about his presence, as they were aware that Morgan would most likely be put to sleep if taken there.
On October 7th, the organization made the decision to rescue Morgan, a furry friend in need. They wasted no time in bringing him to their Rescue & Rehabilitation Center in Capas, Tarlac. Here, Morgan would receive the care and attention he deserved, beginning with a thorough health check. The dedicated team at the center would also ensure that he received the necessary vaccinations and underwent neutering, all as part of his journey towards finding his forever home.
Fast forward to October 17th, and Morgan is thriving under the organization’s care. His well-being is their top priority, and they are working tirelessly to make sure he is in the best possible shape. In the upcoming weeks, Morgan will also receive his vaccinations and undergo the neutering procedure, further ensuring his overall health and happiness.
During a recent teeth assessment, it was determined that Morgan is a senior dog, estimated to be around 10 years old. Despite his age, he still possesses a youthful spirit and a heart full of love.
While Morgan is not yet available for adoption, the organization is offering a unique opportunity for individuals to become his godparents through sponsorship.
