Lisa was introduced to Brad under unfortunate circumstances. The poor pup had been through a lot before he met her. Brad was discovered wandering the streets of Houston, Texas, and it’s believed he was initially bred for dogfighting. Unfortunately, his sweet temperament made him unsuitable for that life, or perhaps his deafness was the reason for being abandoned. Brad was left with no love or protection and was forced to fend for himself.
Fortunately, Brad was later taken to a shelter and transferred to the caring hands of 2 Blondes All Breed Rescue in Colorado, an organization that saves dogs from high-kill facilities. After being adopted, Brad was unfortunately returned and had to wait two long years to find another home.
This is when Lisa entered Brad’s life, and things began to look up for the sweet, deserving pup.
Lisa, a resident of Denver, Colorado, had originally planned to foster Brad, a dog in need of temporary care while he waited to find his forever home. However, as she grew closer to Brad, Lisa realized that she could not bear to part with him like she had with previous foster dogs. She did not want Brad to experience the pain of being returned to the shelter without a permanent family. As a result, Lisa and Brad have become inseparable companions. Despite Brad’s past experiences with cruelty, he displays a remarkable lack of distrust towards humans and does not seem to be weighed down by his difficult life. Instead, he is a happy and playful dog who enjoys snacking, drinking water from the shower, and sleeping in a rather peculiar position, with his hind foot resting on his face.
Brad, like any other animal, has his own set of challenges. His owner, Lisa, faces difficulties taking him to the dog park due to his inability to respond to verbal calls and her concerns that any mishaps might be blamed on his breed, leading to trouble for Brad. However, Lisa believes that avoiding the dog park is a small price to pay for the friendship she shares with Brad and the wonderful life she has provided him.
